Standing exposed at the highest point of your home, chimneys take the full force of the elements year-round. We recommend regular chimney inspections, particularly for those on older properties, to ensure they remain in good condition and are safe. Our roofers can repoint and rebuild chimneys, as well as repairing accompanying lead flashings.
This feature fixes ridge tiles securely to the roof, protecting them from wind up-lift and water ingress. Dry Ridge (or Dry Verge) systems provide a neat finish for roof edges without the more time-consuming need for mortar. Available in black, brown and terracotta, Dry Ridge systems are weathertight and maintenance-free.
Known as roofline products, gutters, fascias and soffits play a pivotal role in a fully-functioning roof system. These features remove water from the roof as quickly as possible, minimising the damage it can cause. If they become blocked, however, water stays in the roofing area or spills down the walls of the property. In both cases, this can cause considerable damage. Our roofers fit PVCu roofline products in an array of colours and styles to suit any home.
Over a long period of time, moss growth on roofs is inevitable. As roofing materials age, they become more porous, allowing water inside. Moss only grows on damp materials, so old roofing that holds moisture for longer provides the ideal location. Once established, moss spores eventually become ingrained within the tile itself.
Not only do these mossy growths look unsightly, they can also lead to a range of issues that require roof repairs. Moss can crack or distort tiles, moving them out of position. In addition, if left unattended, moss can often grow beneath tiles too, pushing them up and creating a gap for water ingress. With a pH of 5, moss is also acidic. Over time it reacts with the tiles, wearing them down, eventually leading to leaks.
